1. What is your area of expertise?

I have a MSc in Theory of Constraints (Healthcare Management). TOC tools and techniques are applied to identify the system constraint, design solutions and plan delivery to increase productivity, reduce waste and improve profits.

I am an Improvement Advisor graduate from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. I am trained in improvement science to deliver better outcomes. I have worked on national improvement collaboratives and with many individuals and teams from highly technical clinical teams to maintenance and catering. 

2. How do you prefer to work?

I work with inclusively with people on the shop floor and with the management team to define the problems and co-design the solutions. I bring my improvement expertise and work with people who understand the context and content. I provide improvement training to develop a reusable skill set for continuous improvement.

3. What are your fees?

My fees average £1000 per day

PROJECTS

I have worked nationally and locally with healthcare teams across the system. These were through my NHS employment and include:

  • Application of Theory of Constraints to improve discharge planning and system flow
  • Operating theatre improvements to increase efficiency
  • Radiology redesign to increase the number scans done
  • Revising community mental health rehabilitation resources to meet client needs
  • Developing reliable processes to ensure patients get the care they want and need, when they need it thus reducing waste, harm and variation.
